WebRACF allows users to
- Issue any RACF command via the command line interface e.g. LISTUSER, LISTGRP, LISTDSD, RLIST, SETR, ALTUSER, ALTGROUP, ALTDSD, RALTER, DELUSER, DELGROUP, DELDSD, RDELETE etc. Authority check is always done by RACF© an IBM product).
- Separate GUI functions are: RESUME, REVOKE, REMOVE, CONNECT, PERMIT
- Multiple predefined Host definitions supported to connect easily to other RACF sites
The advantages of the WebRACF over a PC RACF application are:
- No PC applications must be installed and maintained = no potential viruses
- No Software distribution process required
- RACF Admin. will be accessible from anywhere (scope of authorization is handled by RACF)
other benefits are e.g. no TSO/ISPF required for various users.
Prerequisites:
- MVS-ESA or z/OS (any version) for the Server application which runs as a STC or BATCH job.
- Any platform which supports PHP Version 5.2 to run the client application
- WebRACF does NOT require any other 3rd party products like the competition e.g. IBM DB2 or, JDBC DB-Server
